Care Guide

Stick-Down Vinyl Flooring

After Installation

Let the Floor Settle:

  • Wait at least 48 hours before cleaning the floor after installation.
  • Remove any fresh adhesive immediately using a damp white cloth.
  • For dried adhesive, gently rub with a cloth slightly moistened with turpentine—never pour it directly on the surface.
  • Heavy Objects – Allow at least 24 hours before placing heavy furniture on newly installed flooring.

Initial Cleaning:

  • Once 48 hours have passed, clean the floor using a vinyl-appropriate cleaner and a microfiber mop.
  • Rinse thoroughly to remove any cleaner residue and allow the floor to dry completely.

Regular Cleaning

Daily Maintenance:

  • Sweep, vacuum, or dry mop daily to keep the floor free from dust and dirt.
  • For marks or smudges, use a soft, damp cloth to gently clean the area.

Products to Avoid:

  • Avoid using vinegar, solvent-based cleaners, waxes, or dust treatments, as they may dull or damage the surface.

Preventative Measures

Furniture Protection:

  • Apply felt pads to furniture legs to avoid scratches and make movement easier.
  • Do not use rubber-backed mats or rubber furniture tips—they can cause discoloration.

Sunlight & Heat:

  • Use curtains, blinds, or UV window films to shield floors from direct sunlight and heat.
  • Never place heaters directly on the vinyl surface, as this may cause warping or bubbling.

Handling Spills & Stains

Act Quickly:

  • Clean up spills right away to prevent staining.
  • Avoid leaving oil-based or petroleum-based substances on the floor, as they can cause permanent damage.

Additional Tips

Protect the Surface:

  • Avoid high heels or dragging heavy furniture, which can dent or scratch the floor.
  • Use large entryway mats without rubber backing to minimize dirt being tracked indoors.
    Pets
  • Keep pet nails trimmed to prevent scratches.
